Question Xine unable to initialize audio drivers.

Hi;I loaded xubuntu into my old gateway g6 350.I proceeded to cherry pick programs ;namely Amarok from synaptic since the default Totem player didn't autodetect a music cd when put it in the machine.Amarok loaded well, would auto detect the cd insertion but alas deliver the message that xine was unable to initialize audio drivers.I didn't find Xine anywhere in the system(add programs, synaptic, etc..).It seems I need correct audio drivers for amarok and the knowledge to install them properly.Thanx.

You don't say which distro you are running?

Fedora 11 "out of the box" has some issues with Pulseaudio and Creative Labs sounds cards (notable the SBLive and the Audigy). Do you have a /dev/dsp entry in your /dev directory??

That is, IF you even have Xine on the system... it might be that your distro does not include xine in its standard distribution.
