Xine slows down system and freezes?

When I run Xine, my computer turns into a turtle and xine is extremely slow. Any tips as to what I should look into to remedy this problem? I am going to try and install the nvidia drivers to see if that helps.

Tell us more about your hardware in general (CPU, RAM, ...), and check whether there are
any error messages in dmesg' output ... check ~/.xsession-errors for output from xine.

I dont know anything about the hardware but somehow I got the nvidia drivers to work and xine runs much faster. I guess its good enough now. Thanks.

You also should run "xine-check" to see what needs to be done. It will tell you where your system is lacking.

And maybe edit your sig? It doesn't match your UserCP.
