xine problem

I installed xine, along with some codecs, as per the suggestions given by a guide. Xine worked fine for several hours, before refusing to load, only showing the gui for a flash before closing with a "xiTK received SIGSEGV signal, RIP. Aborted". Is it a problem with the codecs? Between the player working and not working nothing was changed... thanks!

Just bumping this... if there's any extra information I should provide, then feel free to ask. I just found it really mysterious that the player would stop working all of a sudden, long after the installation of any packages and codecs...

try deleting your .xine directory in your home folder and then restarting xine.

No luck, unfortunately... xine only aborts with errors about fonts sometimes instead:

<snip>

Edit: So it works now. Huh. I did delete the folders in both the user and the root hme directories, but to no avail- I ran up2date (I know I'm not supposed to anymore, but still) when it told me it had updates, and then rebooted. Now it works. Any idea what the issue was? Thanks very much for the advice!
