Ximian and question about UT2004
I downloaded Ximian and I like it alot more than gnome! I havent had a chance to mess around in it too much cause Ive been in winxp playing a few games n stuff. But it looks nice. I suggest giving it a try for those who havent.
UT2004: -=(Question #1)=-
I installed the 2k4 demo on my linux drive and got it working pretty much like I had it in Windows. Just my problem is, I get like 100+ fps online but everything is really dark IE: player models, skins, lighting. And when I get in a battle my fps drops to around 40-60fps and looks really bad and gets jittery. #1) Does anyone know how to fix this so I can play it just as effectivly in Linux as I can in windows? Ive been playing Unreal games for around 4-5 years now and I am really good and I know my way around the settings and configuration of game settings very well in order to get the best performance. But its a bit different in linux. I have my Linux, RedHat9 OS up to date, XF86 is up to date, latest nvidia drivers installed and working properly.
(Q-#2) Also, In linux, is it neccesary to have any type of spyware removal program and if so what is best?
(Q-#3) And how can I disable uneccesary programs/tasks to free up ram,cpu and how can I tell what I need running and what I dont?
