xfree86-mesa-devel

help. i somehow need to get the xfree86-mesa-devel package onto my system so i can compile a game.

i already have XFree86-Mesa-libGL-4.3.0-55 and XFree86-Mesa-libGLU-4.3.0-55 on my computer, but i dont have the devel part (i also have freeglut-2.2.0-0.11.fr, but i dont htink that matters does it?)

for some reason i cant build mesa from source. so that is no good (if that even helps for the devel part... ?)
i have searched everywhere for a FC1 rpm but i cannot find one.

can anyone help me?

I think to build Mesa from source you just have to type make Linux-x-86.The problem I had with install was that, the make install command doesn't work.So you might have to manually install the headers and libs.Just read the install instructions at mesa's website.
The problem lies with the bin folder which doesn't include the install script. So just write to Mesa about the problem.I have and I hope they fix it quick. As for binaries, there're hardly any available for the x86(I'm assuming you're on an x86 platform.)There are some at rpmfind, but they are older versions(ver. 3 I guess).

On second thought, just check your distro cd 's.They might have the Mesa rpm'sDo a " find /mnt/cdrom | grep mesa".It'll search your cd's for the Mesa rpm.So you might just get a lucky break.
