I want to make sure I understand you fully to be able to find the remedy.

You had the default/plain in your terminal but you changed it to XFCE (black bckgrnd) and have 3 search boxes within
your black blackgrounded terminal?
And; do you want the transparent background or do you want the black background in your terminal?

You could try 'autoremove' but you would have to remember exactly how you made those search boxes configure themselves to your terminal and the commands you used to configure them.

While I look for a solution you can try these links they may provide you with a few ideas/suggestions-
