xfce versus gnome what are the benefits?
Hi,
I am a newbie to Linux and am trying to figure out what the diff is between a gnome session and xfce? Any benefits/pros and cons I should consider? I'm told they both have nice GUIs for the beginner... Would appreciate some help, thanks, Maria |

You can spend some time looking over other users impressions of different "sessions", but you might just get up to speed and save lots of time by installing and using them yourself.

XFCE is lightweight and is not as crippled as GNOME in terms of configurability. The best way to find out is which is the best for you is to try them both as suggested by Trio3b.
