xfce middle mouse button shortcut doesn't always work

When I click on the desktop with the middle mouse button, it brings up a list of all the programs running on all my desktops, but sometimes it doesn't work.

Why does this happen? More importantly, how can I restore it's functionality when it's not working?

It's probably just some weird glitch. Sort of thing happens all the time. Don't tense up. Just try a few things and the problem may well resolve.

No, I think that there is some driver or something that's not activating. The only thing that solves it is rebooting, and even then sometimes it's not working.
