xfce lock screen and screen saver no secure option
Hi there! A question about screen lock options in xfce: What I have: desktops with Linux Mint 18 xfce in an office environment where separate users use it at different times. What I need: lock screen for each user after 5 min of no activity; on a mouse click to ask for the password for this user OR give the option to switch user.
What I tried: xscreensaver - fine, but no option to switch user. so if another user comes along, they are stuck
(can i install something to create an option to switch user?) power manager - does not seem to lock screen, just blanks it out, on keystroke back to actual user desktop - not good for security. tried both "display" and "system" settings - on keystroke just opens the original screen, no password required. gnome-screensaver - I had to install this to make "lock screen" option work (with Alt-Ctrl-L or in user drop-down menu). But there is no option for "Screensaver" in Settings, or I can't find it?
Basically, we need security in case someone walks away without logging off...
Thanks, Awesome Machine, and others!
found a simple solution:
disabled xscreensaver
installed light-locker
then used power manager to blank screen after 10 min and lock when sleeping
it blanks the screen and, on keystroke, simply takes you to the login screen
Cheers!
