XF86 switching from Nvidia Ti4200 to Radeon 9700

I switched my Nvidia Ti4200 to a Radeon 9700 graphics card.
To facilitate this I chose the "ATI" driver instead of the "nvidia" driver, in my xf86 config file.
This guess on howto choose a new driver, worked like a charm :-)
Only problem is that now MPlayer crashes X everytime I try to play a video.

Does anyone see the problem, or have a guess ??

Which driver do you use for the ATI card? Most probably there is a problem with the XV portion of the driver. You could try getting drivers from ATIs website, which are said to suck pretty bad (never tried one myself), since ATI has no real interest in Linux as it seems, yet you might have some luck with these.

I use the ATI driver that comes with the kernel.
