xf86 screens not found
 
Ok, I'm not exactly a newbye but this must be a silly question.
I'm getting crasy trying to start up xfree86 in an old machine.
this is may log:

(the last part only)

I tried changing my resolution, de V nd H Refresh Rate, etc.
I don't know what to do.:confused:

hello

i had these day's a simmilar problem...my harddisk was to full.

1.do you have enought free space? try to free some space up.
maybe you'll ask what's the problem with xfree86 and youre harddisk...i don't know. a friend of mine who has it's own linux-forum told me that. other people had the same problem.

2. if the free space didn't helped...boot youre system with cd1, type "linux rescue" when you come to the shell edit youre /etc/X11/XF86Config. there is a line <load "dri">, replace it with <# load "dri">.

ok, thank you
I solved the problem in other way.
I seem that my card isn't suported by xfree86.
So I choose the unsuportedvga driver and set the secreen to start with 8bit colours and 800x600 pxs.
I look bad, but it work.
