xev and mouse click events

xev does not show mouse buttonpress events when using a -id, is there any workaround or is this a bug?

when I use the command xev -id NumIdWin the mouse buttonpress events are not shown

only mouse PropertyNotify is shown

without details hard to say anything, but I guess it is not a bug. buttonpress events are handled probably by another window (parent?).
