On my SuSe 8.2 box .Xdefaults doesn't load automatically when X11 and KDE starts (I have some color changes for xemacs and acroread there). Whats shall i do to force it to load?

"Whats shall i do to force it to load?"

You could try putting your changes in .bash_profile, .profile, or .bashrc. I do not remember which of those SuSE uses to set user parameters but I think that the SuSE comments in one of those files tells you where to put user parameters.

Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD.
