I just installed Fedora Core 2 and I'm trying to upgrade the kernel to 2.6.6.

In the reading I've been doing I've figured the main 2 ways of creating the config file are "make xconfig" or "make menuconfig."

I'd like to use the GUI version (xconfig) but I can't locate it on my system.

Is there a package that perhaps I overlooked on the installation or is it a separate download that needs to be installed?

This newbie stuff is killing me!!!

Thank you for any help.

What error do you get when running "make xconfig" in your kernel directory?

There may be a package missing but without an error it is difficult to diagnose.

Thank you for the very quick reply!

Just figured it out, I wasn't root.
