xandros installs fine, fedora won't see hdb?

WinXP on one partition, the other is raw. I can easily install Xandros to the raw side, and have a dual boot. If I try to install Fedora to the same raw side, (4 good iso cd's) I get 'partition table unreadable on hdb, then input output error during read/write, so the install goes nowhere. Is Fedora not to be installed as a dual boot, or is it just not seeing my hard drive? Thanks in advance...
