xandros 3.0 and libdvdread3 for DVD playback

Very new to Linux, just installed Xandros 3.0 this afternoon and love it. HOWEVER, I can't my DVD's to playback. After searching forums (and buying a book). I found that I was to do the following:
1. Go to the Xandros Networks and download libdvdread3.
2. Go to my console, go root, then type: /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/examples/
Nothing happens except a bash error. What's more, there's no indication that my system even has libdvdread3 on it, even though Xandros Networks says it's downloaded. I've tried rebooting, using the "locate" command on the console, every tool in my very limited arsenal.

Any guidance you can give me would be very helpful. Thanks.

Just a tack on to my last post if it makes things clearer. When I go a-huntin' in the files, it doesn't look like my "libdvdread3" file actually has anything it, like "examples" or "". Did I install an empty package from Xandros Networks? Or is there something else going on?
