x86 Fedora 10 vs I386 Fedora 10.

Hello,

Which Fedora 10 should I use x86 or i386? My processor is Pentium 4 i686(32 bit) and I have 256mb of memory.

If youŕe processor is 32 Bits than you should use 32 bits version
A 64 Os did not run on 32 bits CPU
So do Not Use X86

i386.
EDIT: already replied.

Erm, x86 generally infers 32-bit, unless it's x86-64. x86 is effectively the same as i386. i686 would infer it's a 64-bit processor but I stayed away from the P4s and didn't think they were 64-bit...

i686 wouldn't infer that it's a 64bit processor.

In Linux computing i686 refers to compiler optimization for Pentium II and later processors, as compared to "i386" builds that are slower but more compatible with older processors.
P4 has instruction set for x86 i386,x86-64,MMX,SSE,SSE2 and SSE3.P6 is sometimes referenced as i686.
