X Windows - No Screens Found
This is my first time installing linux, I think I got through the installation okay (using Debian netloader and a nice guide I found on these forums)
next up is X Windows. I'm having trouble getting X Windows to use my video card. The info on the computer is as follows: P2 333mhz 96 megs of SDram OnBoard Riva TNT 128 (auto disabled through bios) OnBoard Sound OnBoard Ethernet ATi Radeon 7000 (PCI) USB 2.0 PCI Card I want to use my PCI Radeon card because I'm going to need the S-Video output on it enventually. Anyways, here's what X-Windows is spitting out at me when it fails: Code:
(II) Loading sub module "int10" I have no idea what to try from here -- any ideas? Thanks, -Andy |

XF86config file regards |
Ah, I just figured out the solution to my own problem.
I'll put it here just incase anyone finds this thread in a search feature one day: Make sure you are editing XF86Config-4 if you are using X-Windows 4.xx If you used the Debian netinstaller to get X-windows, you probably have X-Windows 4, or you can look in /var/log/XFree86.0.log and it will print off the version on the first few lines. By default it does not appear that XF86Config writes to XF86Config-4... |
