Hi,

If you want to use 'putty' and a free X server for M$Windows then you could use Xming. You can secure X-Sessions from a M$Windows PC's via Xming and putty. You could look at an eXample as how it can be done.

Hope this helps, sorry about not getting back until now but I've been busy lately with other projects.

Thanks for the reponse
Downloaded CygwinX and it appears to be working
I open a cygwin bash shell and type /usr/X11R6/bin/startxwin.sh and I get an xwindow at the $ prompt I type export DISPLAY=192.168.1.101:0.0 and then xhost and from there I can run the graphic apps such as gedit, xclock xcalc xterm etc


Its pretty flaky, but at least I get some functionality.
