I got the same error when runnong startx. However I managed to get to the desktop and everthing was working as usual.
Are you able to get to the desktop?

Wasnt able to get to desktop
says screens found but none with usable configuration
i started windows and changed my resolution and still came up with no screens with usable configurations. how can i get this to work? how do i make my screen have a usable config?

What does it mean when you say you 'started windows and tried to change resolution'... were you at the desktop while doing that?
The configuration file is '/etc/X11/xorg.conf. Changes to this file would make a difference to the display.
I think when booting up the pc at the grub you have safe mode. Try that.

started windows
started up the computer without the bt4 cd. and changed the resolution on my computer profile. i havent been able to get the bt4 program to actually start up because it has a fatal error no screens found.

Try running sudo 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg' this will give you a chance to run the screen configuration manually.
