X start problem

Hello,

I have a Linux installed on my PC and I used this PC with vnc and Kde until now without any problem.
Today I tried to start kde without vnc on the local machine from the consol with startx.

As first step I get an error that /etc/X11/X not found.
I set up a link as follows:
ln -s ../../usr/bin/X11/X

Now when I try startx I get an error:
X: warning; process set to priority -20 instead of requested priority -10

And this message fill the terminal window.

I use Debian Sarge.

Any idea?

I have no idea, but I have a clue that if my machine did this, I would try to figure out why it suddenly couldn't find X first, before just writing links.

Perhaps the $PATH in one of your resource files was changed and your system no longer knows where to search? Maybe you started from a different directory than you normally do?

I hope somebody who knows more about this replies! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hello,

problem is solved.
It seems that the VNC server didn't needs xserver-common and xserver-xfree86.
I installed them and now all works fine.
