More information is needed. What is the exact error message? What is the hardware (computer, graphics card, etc.)?

Provide this information and we may be able to help you.

Try getting to the terminal (Ctrl + alt + F1) and check the output of
cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
Most likely a driver issue or a misconfigured monitor.
