X server crash

Hello all

I find the strange thing happening on my Redhat 9.0 box.
I connect to the internet using KPPP on GNOME
When i am connected to the internet if i try to enter the console mode using Ctrl+Alt+F1
i get disconnected from the internet and Xserver crashes and sometimes the system hangs. Is the a problem with the distro or with my config..

cheers
Pavan

Hi, i am much a newbie myself and probably this may seem dumb, but, here it goes anyway:
When you press Ctrl+Alt+F1 you go to the linux command line, what do you mean with Xserver crashes??
did you try pressing Ctrl+Alt+F7 to get back to X11?
I donīt know much about KPPP, but look in configure-->misc --> maybe you have enable "disconect when X server shoutdown" or something like that
Well hope it helps, if not well, good luck!

Gud try buddy Electronkz... but dats not the problem.. X server crashes in the sense that it exits and comes out to the login screen... and no Ctrl+Alt+F7 doesnt come back to the Xserver but instead it hangs the PC

Cheers
