X problems on RH7

I again and thanks for getting me here...

So, I've updated from RH 6.3 to version 7 recently, on my old PC, and I'm having a small problem with X.

My graphic board is an S3 Trio 32, and X apparetly only runs on 640x480 mode, and mostly all the windows, in graphic mode, are too big for the screen.

Iīd like to change the resolution to 800x600, so the windows fit the screen, but on Xf86config I seem to be unable to achive that.

What's the best way to do it, or, if the board really canīt manage it, to make the windows fit the screen.

Iīm really, really new at this (a week ol linux user), and I couldnīt find any help on the man and faqs that came with the destribution.

Please, do help...

If you don't have a handy GUI app to configure your X for you, you need to edit /etc/X11/XF86Config.

The appropriate man page is for XF86Config. Is that the one you read?

Also how about the Linux Documentation Project Linux-HOWTO's XFree86-HOWTO and XFree86-Video-Timings-HOWTO. These may be on your disto, if not, they can be found at:
