X loads fine as root, but not as a general user
I run Red Hat 8.0 and have had no problems until recently, when I suddenly find that if I try to log in as a user (NOT root), the X window appears, but does not load programs (icons do not appear across the bottom of the window as X is loading).
As root I can go in perfectly normally. I have tried deleting users and re-creating them, but I still can't get X to load properly as a user, unless I log in as root.
Any suggestions please?
