X Help

Ok, now that I have yuor attention...

I installed RedHat 8.0, Everything was going fine, Tested my graphics settings, everything was great! I restart the computer, REdhat boots up.... Right when the login screen (Graphical) would come up, my screen would get... Funky? It looked all messed up, half of the screen was black half looked like a broken TV Screen. I tried installing it with diffrent conifgurations around 10 times.

Well, now Im in console.... (Typed this from another computer) I know my way aroudn basicly... But I really want KDE up, or some GUI to make it easier on me.

Thanks, sorry If this was confusing =)

First off - there is no need to reinstall every time.

It sounds like you have a configuration problem with X.
1) Get all the specs for your video card and Monitor.
2) Login as root and run "redhat-config-xfree86". This will allow you to configure your hardware.
3) Enter/select your hardware and the specs it supports
4) You can run "Xtest" to test your config - if it does not show you a desktop with a essage asking if the config is OK then wait 10 seconds and it will exit automatically.
