Hello ,

i'm just installed Debian with gnome , the x server is ok , but the mouse is "dead" , i'm newbie .
I compare the file X11config.... with the file generated by Knoppix and they are the same , with knoppix my mouse is ok directly , have u some idees ?
How verifiate where is the probleme ? Is is a problem with gnome , x or debian ?
Thanks in advance , Jluk

You sure X11Config is the same? I dont know, but maybe its where its looking for ur mouse (like /dev/psaux works on one, or /dec/mouse on the other) taht or does Debian come with Maybe you ned to check its Xorg.conf?

Stealth870 is right, your mouse is probably set up incorrectly in /etc/X11/xorg.conf - if is installed on your computer. If you're running Xf86 instead, there'll be a .conf file associated with that which will be /etc/X11/xf86.conf I think. Check in the file that applies to your system and post the section titled "input device" (there should be two, one referring to your mouse, the other to your keyboard, post the one refrerring to your mouse).
