X Debian problem(no GUI)

So, the thing is i installed Debian 5.0 in a machine and the installation was good. but cannot enter to X ( to graphic mode), it says: "monitor out of range."

What this should be, i have debian in another machine and is working properly..

How did you set up the video? Did it ever work or has it always been inoperative?

Hello,

Try running the reconfigure for the package and select in the video setup a resolution of which you are sure your monitor accepts. Sometimes when a wrong resolution is configured you get the error message you got.

Run at console:
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
to reconfigure Xorg.

Kind regards,

Eric
