x-cd-roast won't read my DVD/CD RAM drive

Can anyone help show me how to edit my etc/grub.conf file so X-CD-ROAST can read my DVD/CD RW RAM drive, I know scsi emulation must be enabled. I went to the X-CD-ROAST website but being a newbie and all, I found it confusing as to exactly what I enter into my grub.conf file and in what line in order to get it working properly. I tried to enter ro root=/dev/hda6 hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi after my kernel ver number and I screwed up my machine. Ended up using the recovery cd and re-edit grub.conf back to the original.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated!!

Thanks
