X and Blue screen?
Hello,
I haven't used linux in a while and seem ot have a problem after a fresh install. I can get to the command line fine but when i try and run X, I get a a blue screen with an X in the middle. my config file i think was set to 1280x1024 but the instlal didnt have drivers for my Hyundai L70S LCD. How can I fix this so I can get into X without the blue screen? ** Edit: This seems to be the error hidding int eh back ground: Failed to load module " /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extentions/libglx.a" (once only 135962511) Thanx |
I found another post about commenting that load section out that deals with glx stuff. Does this mean the video card i have does nto support 3d acceleration or just doesnt handle GL?
Its a onboard Intel 815chipset. I love learning this stuff :) |
i'm pretty sure you card won't support 3d...i have the same thing, and it's disabled on my system...you might wanna give that a try. what distro are you using?

intel 815 DOES support 3d, you should load i810 driver (?) then glx and dri.
But I think your problem isn't glx. |
failed to load module "/usr/x11r6/lib/modules/extentions/libglx.a"
i disabled the the 3d and im got to the wizard but then the screen keeps flickering off and on.. it'll then return to asking the login. its a old compaq presario 5452 |
