Insert floppy.Select floppy using file manager.
Right click.Select open folder as root.Enter password.
Now you can write to floppy using cut and paste or dragging files.
Take care not to harm your system as you are using root!
This worked for me using Linux Mint Rafaela 17.2 XFCE 64 Bit installed from a download about two weeks back. My floppy drive is an internal IDE device.
Really pleased with Linux Mint Rafaela 17.2 XFCE! as all of my bits work from one installation CD...Way to go!
