Question writing Linux shell scripts in Windows

Sorry to even bring up windows but Is there a way I can write scripts for linux and run them in Win2K? I only ask because I'm having huge problems with my Red Hat 9.0 install hardware wise and I have a very important assignment due in a few days

So if this is possible (telnet aside though) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

http://www.knoppix.com/
Getting to the Knoppix download can be confusing as the index page has a rant about European software patents.
You will need to go to the "Closed because of "Software-Patents"" paragraph and click on the "Knoppix" link there.
The Knoppix run from CD will allow you to work in Linux without installing anything on your hard drive.
