wow network druid absurdly limited!

Hello all,
Just ran redhat-network-config on a rh9 machine, in an attempt to set up my dsl connection, and am forced to use the text version.

On starting i am only confronted with 3 menus, Ethernet, Modem and ISDN. Now, i can go through Ethernet --> tick DHCP, and give that a go, but it wont save after i exit! I also get strange characters overlapping on each other, an odd view indeed..
This brings me to think that it could possibly be my terminal, (as access is through a windows box) that is causing it. I can take a screenshot of the overlapping if you request.
Anyway, my main priority is to set-up adsl, this problem is just a block in the way that i hope can be moved..

Thanks for tuning in.
