Would this be an Alternative To CD Boot?

I was wondering...would it work if you created another drive in Windows, and copied a live cd linux ISO to it, and then used a boot manager to boot from it? I wouldn't be suggesting this except I have had no luck with floppy boots, and my computer won't boot from a cd rom, (even though i've fixed windows, the option isn't there in the BIOS)...so, will this work? I think it would bee the same as having it on a cd, except it would just be on another drive (as opposed to C:\, or E:\).

Yes, what you're talking about is a loopback device. This article provides more info about it. Good luck with it -- J.W.
