Would like to VNC into my Nix box
 

OK, from what I gather ssh 'tunneling' would be the most efficient method of viewing a remote desktop....


On the client side, i'll most likely be using windows. Would Putty be able to do this? I saw that it had some 'tunneling' features.

i get the impression you don't really know what VNC is.... http://www.tightvnc.com/ it's not related to putty at all, but you can just use a generic SSH tunnel to pass the VNC data through, and connect with a standard VNC client at the other end.

yea, i took tons of stupid pills today :( kinda slow. Found some good reading material tho, am learning gooder now :)
