WLAN issue Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS
Hey guys- currently talking to you via Ethernet on my new Ubuntu installation, but I can't get the wireless to connect. I'd like to fix this. I'm a bit new to computers, having no real luck googling this issue; finding the fixing instructions hard to follow/they don't work. What do you suggest I try?
Here's some information you might need: Processor 4x AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics Memory 11140MB (935MB used) Operating System Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Kernel Linux 3.19.0-25-generic (x86_64) Compiled #26~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 24 21:16:20 UTC 2015 C Library Unknown Default C Compiler GNU C Compiler version 4.8.4 (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04) Distribution Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Network controller Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. chris_crunch,
Try this: http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/u...y-realtek.html or this: http://askubuntu.com/questions/59041...n-ubuntu-14-04 |
You could also try a USB adapter that is useable by stock Ubuntu firmware:
eg TL-WN32321G which I use but there are others. Wireless chips are a bane for Linux users and USB sticks can sometimes provide an easy solution, if you can find one old enough! Fred. |
