WLAN issue Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

Hey guys- currently talking to you via Ethernet on my new Ubuntu installation, but I can't get the wireless to connect. I'd like to fix this. I'm a bit new to computers, having no real luck googling this issue; finding the fixing instructions hard to follow/they don't work. What do you suggest I try?

Here's some information you might need:

chris_crunch,

Try this:

You could also try a USB adapter that is useable by stock Ubuntu firmware:

eg TL-WN32321G

which I use but there are others.

Wireless chips are a bane for Linux users and USB sticks can sometimes provide an easy solution, if you can find one old enough!

Fred.
