With Suse 9.0 my PC doesn't shut down.
Well, this is not the only problem: CD's don't eject (using the eject command from the menu ), when i take out a 1.44 " disk and put another one in and open it I see and open the files of the previous one. However none of these problems appear using the Mandrake 9.2 distro. Somebody said i should compile the kernel on my PC (AMD 1600+ , 256DDR). Is this true? How can i fix the problems on Suse?

Perhaps there's no automount/autoumount available....that would explain both issues with the CD and floppy.
If you remove a floppy without first unmounting it, the system will think the disk is still in the drive. If you try to open a mounted CD drive, you get nowhere. |
