With Suse 9.0 my PC doesn't shut down.

Well, this is not the only problem: CD's don't eject (using the eject command from the menu ), when i take out a 1.44 " disk and put another one in and open it I see and open the files of the previous one. However none of these problems appear using the Mandrake 9.2 distro. Somebody said i should compile the kernel on my PC (AMD 1600+ , 256DDR). Is this true? How can i fix the problems on Suse?

Perhaps there's no automount/autoumount available....that would explain both issues with the CD and floppy.
If you remove a floppy without first unmounting it, the system will think the disk is still in the drive.
If you try to open a mounted CD drive, you get nowhere.

What the heck does the question have to do with your thread title?

Golly, Might want to make sure your thread title has at least something to do with the actual question in the future.
