Wirelss Lan Card Not Getting Installed
 
Hello Friends,

I want to install Dlink PCI wireless lan Card in RHEL, We got driver from D- Link for DWA 510 they inform us this will support linux 4 Kenal ver.(2.6.9.5.el), but their no 'RPM' files ,because of that NIC
card not yet Detected in Linux . we want to get the RPM file .first of all we want to try in RHEL4. I'm giving our linux details i.e RHEL 4 server edition kenal Ver. 2.6.9-5.el . So Pls Help me to install the Wirelss lan card in Linux. if any feedbackup pls revert back. soo please look forward to give the solution ASAP

From what I can tell, the manufacture (D-Link). Do not support this Wireless card for anything other then Windows and this appears to be a depreciated wireless card, I think your best bet is going to be looking at unofficial driver sites for linux and hoping their is an unofficial driver to be found on one of them.

If they said this model supports Linux, does it any day means that they ported the linux driver with the equipment? Did they tell you explicilty that driver for linux was on the cd that came up with the card?
You would need to find out the driver for it on the net if they did not provide you with the driver. Even if they did provide it, it would not be in rpm format. It could possibly in tar.gz format that you would need to compile yourself.
Else you could use ndiswrapper and windows driver.
