Question Wireless Troubleshooting and Suse 10.0

OK, I've been playing with Linux distros to see which one I like better. The ultimate goal is to replace winxp on my desktop for basic 'Net, e-mail type stuff.

I've installed Suse 10.0 on a toshiba laptop and it went really nice and smooth, except I think I screwed up the wireless networkings. (Intel pro/wireless 2100)

I'm not sure whether it is that the built-in wireless is not working or that my wireless router is blocking access. When I get some play-time I'll open up the router to see if that's it.

In general, what I'm looking for is a troubleshooting guide for this so that I can work through most of this myself.

Any initial tips or sites to look at?

I've been working through that site slowly, and I made it to the point where I run iwconfig. I get back that none of the adapters have wireless extensions. What I'm supposed to do is (1) "Enable the config option CONFIG_NET_RADIO in the kernel setup" and then (2) "recompile and reinstall this kernel" and then (3) "recompile and reinstall the kernal modules"

I don't know how to do 1, 2 or 3. Any pointers?
