Does Fedora 12 supply the firmware for this device? The OP has the kernel module needed (driver) but may not have the firmware required. Looking in my kernel, I didn't see the firmware supplied in /lib/modules/$(uname -r)/source/firmware/ or /lib/firmware/$(uname -r)/. But I am using openSUSE 12.2.
