Wireless problems with every distro I try
Hi,
For some reason, every distro I have tried (elementary os,Linux mint, debian and now Ubuntu) have the same problem: When I want to connect to a wireless network with WLAN or WLAN enterprise security it will keep prompting me for the password and I can not connect. However, it works fine on the network on which I give when installing the distro.
As well as that, when I use ifconfig, I get no output of eth0 or wlan0..help?
Thanks

Hello and welcome to LQ.
Maybe tell us how you made or installed these distros and to what (hard drive/usb flash?)
Some distro's don't use ifconfig and more are not using the old style naming. What does (might have to use sudo) ifconfig -a say or use ip command.

Also, what is the wireless chipset and the make/model of the computer?

To expand on frankbell's request, please open a terminal and see if your system will give you the results of the following commands. If it does, please post them all in their entirety...
Code:

If this is a laptop, please also post the results of...

does it ask for your user password or for the wlan network's password?
and are you actually entering the correct password?
