wireless problem


got a desktop pc with a d-link wireless usb fob in usb slot,but it doesnt pick up my wireless it just says no firm ware installed,im running ubuntu 10.04,but when i ran ubuntu 10.10 alpha 3
and ultimate ubuntu it picked wireless up straight away ????
