wireless new ubuntu


heya

i type the wireless password but its never accepted. are there any special settings? im usin default wep 128-bit passphrase/open system

with sudo lsmod | grep ipw2200 i get

ipw2200 146120 0
ieee80211 35528 1 ipw2200

show me the command you typed to enter the password. Also copy and paste the output from iwconfig. If you tried connecting through the GUI, then try in the terminal.

iwconfig wlan essid ESSID
iwconfig wlan0 ap MAC
iwconfig wlan0 key KEY
dhclient wlan0

hi thanks for replyin. in the command sequence above what does mac stand for?

i tried to type the password first from the icon which appears in the panel. then followed this page

its funny i had no problems connecting at my parents, but cant connect at home. must be something regarding the configuration of the router :unsure:
