Exclamation Wireless Networking on Kubuntu / Need Suggestions

I've finally found a distro that works on my Thinkpad iSeries. Kubuntu seems to work flawlessly on my system except for the most important thing (atleast for me). Wireless internet.

I know my network is up & running (i.e. this thread), however I can't get KWiFi Manager to work the way I need it to. I can get it to detect my router & show a signal, but I can't browse the internet. Everytime I go to network settings, it says "Disabled Wireless Network Device" & when I go to enable it, 5 seconds later it disables itself right infront of my very eyes.

I am relatively new to Linux but know most of the basics. I also know that this card works, it works fine on SimplyMepis & SuSe.

I'm missing something. I have WEP setup to the best of my knowledge in Linux & am not willing to disable it. I can only imagine that I am missing one small setting. Any ideas?

Thank you very much (in advance)!

sounds like you may need to install the proper driver.

what do you get when you do lspci | grep 802?

this will list the make/model of your wireless device. from this, do a search: [name of your device] [linux] [driver]

download the driver and install. if you are new to installing stuff, read this great tutorial by trickykid:
