Wireless Networking Died

Hey everyone,

Using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex on Dell Notebook computer.

Wireless just died all of a sudden. Now the Network Manager does not sense any wireless networks (none!)

Wireless had been working fine for months and then tonight in middle of browsing the web just died.

Have tried the following to no avail:

1) sudo /etc/init.d/networking stop
2) sudo /etc/init.d/networking start

No go....

4) Restart computer

No go....

Anybody else had this happen? How did you overcome?

Regards,
Greenie

Gosh I'm stoopid sometimes.

Just realised the wireless on/off switch at the side of the notebook was in half position, so it must have slipped enough to go into off position.

Switched the wireless switch back on and away we go.....

I guess you gotta watch for the simplest of things sometimes...
