wireless keyboard and mouse in ubuntu

I'm having trouble configuring Ubuntu to work with my wireless keyboard and mouse. They use a single USB receiver to connect. I'm not sure which file to edit to make Ubuntu recognize them while the grub loader is offering the choice of OS's to load, or after it loads Ubuntu.

Hi I am using Ubuntu 7.10 with the same keyboard as you. I just kinda plug them in and start the Ubuntu. I am able to use the keyboard with some of the function keys. some have to set up and some do not work at all.

The keyboard i chose under system, preference, keyboard is Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A.

You will not be able to use the functions under the F keys. But you can use configure them under keyboard shortcut to activate certain things in the shortcut. Hope this helps
