Hello,

Which device is having the problem seeing the router? Which distro are you using? How are you connected with your Linux box?

Thanks for the reply......
I am very new to linux so please bearw/me.

I tried the gui version of printer setup to try and find my printer. It looks like it found it but wont print a test page or anything else. The wireless router is wired to my linux box and goes wireless to the printer.
Also being such a beginner i dont knowhow to find my current kernel version.

I have a similar printer, the HP Photosmart C7280, wired to a Linksys wireless router. Were you trying to use CUPS? I found that CUPS worked great. The KDE tools not so much.

What Linux distribution are you running? If the CUPS daemon (cupsd) is running, open a web browser to localhost:631 then click on Add Printer...

If cupsd isn't running, start it by typing cupsd at the command line, then load CUPS in the browser.

What settings did you use in CUPS to get your C7280 to work?

Driver: HP PhotoSmart 7260 Foomatic/hpijs (recommended)

Port: socket://192.168.1.101

(I Chose app socket/Jetdirect for the device, and then used the IP on my private LAN using CUPS's "add printer" menus.)

Hope this helps.

Thank you.. It helped! I use JetDirect at work everyday as an HP-UX admin.
