Wireless Encryption

Hi,

I have an IBM T23 Laptop with a built in Actiontec PRISM wireless card, Firmware Version 1.03.03.00. I recently installed SuSE Linux 8.2, which found the card and enabled the Orinoco drivers. I have a Netgear 802.11b Wireless accesspoint and Broadband router that I have enabled 128-bit encryption on. My dilemma is this: I cannot get the laptop to connect to my wireless network with encryption enabled. When I disable encryption (everywhere) I can connect just fine. I have checked and double checked the WEP-Encryption key(s). Now I know that the card supports both 64-bit and 128-bit encryption (from using Windows NT on the same latop) but I cannot find a way to tell what encryption strength is being used in SuSE, nor can I find a selector anywhere. Please help! I love using wireless but I do not like to use it unencrypted.

Thanks in advance.

Turn your encryption back on via whatever mechanism you used before, then type /sbin/iwconfig from a console and see if the key is returned correctly, I've had no trouble with 64bit encryption on a variety of cards with several distributions, so maybe the config tool is not getting it right. If you end up needing to use iwconfig at all, "man iwconfig" is your friend.
