Unhappy wireless encryption

Ok, I got the atmel driver installation done. Everything went as supposed to and it the program said ok. However, when I try to connect to the internet via netscape it comes up with an error that it cannot find the webpage. However, I think I know the problem, my wireless has a encryption on it of which I know the password. It is the WEP encryption for a linksys. Does anyone know how to solve this so I can get it working with the encryption on ?

Hi

I am working on the very same problem but with a Belkin prismII based card.

I have found alot of help here.

http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_.../Wireless.html

Looks like I/you will need to have the key passed to iwconfig from ifcfg-eth0

I just need to get the key in the correct format. I can't seem to get it to accept the key (128 bit).

hope that helps.

The key is usually hex, you usually have a ascii word or something set as it but the wireless encryption program turns that into a hex value so you will need to know the hex, which you use as the key instead of the ascii.

Hope that helps, cheers.
