Wireless drivers issue

I'm new (obviously) and have a quick question about loading drivers.

I just installed Linux Ubuntu 9 and would like to load the driver for my Linksys wireless B usb network adapter, I loaded the driver off the website onto a flash drive and tried getting it to work in linux but no such luck, I should have known better than to have something that works in xp to work right away in ubuntu. (If it helps, no, it doesn't just work after plugging in and restarting.)

Any help is much appreciated! I'd like to learn as much as I can about Linux.

Well I'm assuming it was the windows because it didn't offer any options other than the one that works on my XP system. I just opened up the zip from the flash drive and ran "setup" in hopes it might do something.

Wireless B adapter model is WUSB11v4 in case that comes in handy.

Here's a screenshot of the driver as it appears in linux after opening it from the flash drive.
